No it is not necessary to re-register a Community Trademark when new countries join. These new countries automatically become part of an already existing CTM Registration. There is also no payment of additional fees involved. From the date of accession of new countries to the European Community, existing Community Trademark registrations or applications from before that date will be extended to the territory of those Member States in order to have equal effects throughout the Community.
