Trademark Registration in the Benelux Countries can be obtained in 3 different ways:
1. Through a Benelux trademark registration for the Benelux Countries, only valid for the Benelux Countries and not for other countries.
2. Through an international registration (WIPO) with country designation Benelux and the possibility to also designate other countries that take part in the Madrid Protocol.
3. Through a Community Trademark Registration, which has validity for all 28 countries of the European Community including the Benelux Countries.
Countries included in a Community Trademark Registration are Austria, Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg), Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
